All the Books I've Read in 2015

At the beginning of 2015, my main goal was personal development. I wanted to improve my knowledge and understanding of life and business, and I wanted to improve my ability to deal with life’s challenges. So I set a target to read at least 40 books. Initially, I was moving at a fast pace, but had to slow down as the year wore on. Why? I started working. I went from averaging 4 books a month to just 2.

My Quote of the Moment

Different quotes speak to us at different times in our lives. This is the quote that best defines my life right now. It's one from George Bernard Shaw:

How to Put Your Life in Order

Are you in a place right now, where you feel your life is out of control? Are things moving too fast for you to comprehend? And does it look like things are not getting back into order anytime soon? If you answered yes to all or most of those questions, then know that you are not alone. I, for one, can understand what you are going through. I know what it feels like to try to put your life in order, and not be able to do it.

What I've Been Up to Lately

1. I left Gingerbox and now I write for Tech Cabal. During my first week at Tech Cabal, I got the chance to attend a tech conference in Ikoyi, Lagos. For the duration of the conference, I worked as the Director of Photography. I was in charge of photo sessions and video interviews. It was so cool.
Working as a Director of Photography meant I had to learn new things and do things I couldn't do before. In the process, I also met a couple of pleasant people. Most importantly, the exercise helped me finally decide what programme to study for my Masters.

I Woke Up Like This

I've been asking myself a lot of important questions lately. One of such questions that popped up when I woke up is: Is this the life I want for myself? The answer is 'no'.

I'll Go Through The Pain Today For Tomorrow's Sake

I haven't written in a long time. In fact, it's been 3 weeks since I last wrote something that wasn't a personal statement for school application or something of the sort. The main reason is because I have spent so much time at work, thinking about work that I hardly have time for any other thing. Plus, I haven't had someone to deeply converse with in a long while and I feel it's high time I visited my counselor, this blog, again. This is where I feel most comfortable talking and writing about anything without fear or reluctance.

UNVEILED: The EP by Chris Rio

I listened to Chris perform a song off his new EP, Unveiled, and I had to walk up to him to ask if I could put it up on my blog. The song he performed was titled 'So Good' and the song lived up to promise as it was so good.

You can get the EP off:

Or you can give it a listen on Soundcloud

Book Recommendation - Francis Edo-Osagie (@geenieeus)

Who switched off your brain - Dr Caroline leaf.

The book is about the brain, how thoughts are received, planted, and grow over time. The book likens the brain to a fertile soil that receives a lot of things, pondering on a thought is like watering a seed; it grows into a big three.
Pictures in the book show actual thoughts in the brain, the funny thing is that they look like trees, with branches and every other thing ascribed to a tree.
The book teaches you how to reject negative thoughts as soon as they come, the greatest plus is that is provides scriptural backing throughout the teachings.
