Val’s Day Special: Is Valentine’s Day Over-hyped?

So I had a little chat with a friend on this topic. Funny conversation it was. She said “Val’s day is over hyped joor...at least in Nigeria. Everyday should be a day to show love. Why would anyone even break up a relationship because they didn’t receive a gift from their partner on Val’s day?”

Everyone reserves the right to an opinion; so here is mine: Valentine’s Day is not over hyped! Christians pick out December 25^th to celebrate the birth of Christ and to show love, I think the essence of Valentine’s Day is not far from this. I believe everyday is a day to show love but just as everyday is not Christmas, everyday cannot be Val’s day either.

Valentine’s Day is a day to show love to partners, spouses, friends, family and lovers. It only happens once in a year. It deserves all the hype it can get. Happy Valentine’s day to you all... :*
