What Do You Want 2016 to Be Like for You?

I’m excited about 2016 and all the possibilities that may come with it. I wasn’t as excited about 2015 as I am now. I mean, considering all the lessons I learned in 2015, I’m thankful that I am a little bit wiser this year. Are you excited about 2016? You should be.

I know this will be a good year, I feel it in my gut. But I also know that 2016 will only be as good as we make it. Whatever good things that will happen this year will happen because of the seeds we have sown in the past years and the seeds we will sow in the early months of the year.

7 Things I Have Done To Improve Myself In 2015

I am someone who enjoys the prospect of growth. There's nothing I love more in this world than to grow and help other people grow too. I am constantly looking for ways to improve.

Coming into 2015, I had only one resolution/goal: To end up a far better man this year than I was in 2014 with measurable and tangible evidence of my growth. I also planned to narrow my focus on building my intellectual and social capacity above all other things.

The 10 Principles Guiding My Life

Image Source: New Mexico Common Core
On my way to work this morning, I was ruminating on some things and it occurred to me that I have never put the principles guiding my life in writing. I have often made efforts to put principles before anything else as they serve as a good guide for decision making. However, I had never thought of putting them in ink until today. On that note, I sat down for some time and searched through my life; I was able to come up with 10 primary principles (which have sub-principles) that guide my affairs. I share them with you in hopes that you can share some of yours with me. So, here goes:

  1. God over everything.
  2. Do not mess around with your time. Do not waste it on trivialities.
  3. If you can do something today or now, do not push it to tomorrow, or later.
  4. Gain, share and act on all the knowledge you can.
  5. Be wise in speaking and in silence. Both possess potentials for great effect.
  6. Understand that success isn't accidental. Failure, too, isn't.
  7. Practice what you preach.
  8. Always have in mind that the seeds you sow today will determine tomorrow's harvest. Do not eat up your seeds.
  9. If a conversation will not positively change things, do not engage in it (for long).
  10. Learn to put all your ideas in writing. They will be worth millions someday.
So, these are the 10 primary principles guiding my life. Would you love to share some of yours with me? I know I can learn from you.

15 Quotes that Should Make You Think

The essence of quotations is not just for someone to sound punchy and wise. The essence of quotations is for you the reader to peer into the mind of the creator of the quote, to be inspired into a path of excellence and take up the challenge of self and people development. Take some of these quotes. Think on them, internalize and make them part of your life. Also, you should put them on post cards, cardboards, t-shirts, sticky notes. Be creative with them and you can also use them in your conversations and speeches.
