- Learn how to wake up early. People who wake up early have the capacity to be more productive than those who wake up late. The thing about waking up early is that it gives you the opportunity to plan your day before it starts. Furthermore, waking up early allows you to create a good pace for your day. Whatever your day will be like is defined by the actions you perform in the first few hours.
- Learn how to read a lot. The more relevant stuff you read, the more knowledgeable you become. Reading a lot is no guarantee that you’ll be better but it is the foundation for getting better at what you do. The more you know, the better you get and the more productive you become. Reading someone’s book or work gives you access to all the knowledge the person has about what you’re reading. Imagine reading a book that took a man thousands of other books and many years to write, you’re able to gain access to that person’s knowledge simply through the book.
- You don’t have to take breaks. People have this idea that “all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy”. Well, I’m glad to announce to you that you’re not Jack. You don’t always have to take breaks frequently. Push your body and mind beyond boundaries. That’s the way progress is made. Try to discover new things about your body and mind. Try to see what else you can do. Push your body to the limit. Exercise your mind more than ever. See how far you can go.
- Learn to learn from those better than and ahead of you. Don’t be too proud to ask for help. Remember, people ahead of you probably have experienced what you’re going through, ask them to help out; it makes things easier and faster for you. Also, learn to ask for help from people that you know are better than you. There’s usually no harm in that.
- Eat well. Food is as important in being productive as any other thing. It is often said that “you are what you eat” and I completely agree. Eating excessively and unwisely will decrease your level of productivity. Eat a lot of fruit and vegetables to help your metabolism. Eating junk food will impede your productivity; of this I’m sure.
- Exercise your body. Your body houses your mind and spirit and so, it’s important what you do with it. Make sure you exercise your body regularly. Even if it’s just jogging, that goes a long way. Make sure you sweat your body n exercise regularly. It helps a lot.
- Laugh. In fact, laugh a lot. Even if your workplace is boring, look for ways to make yourself. Laugh. Thank God for YouTube, there are countless funny videos there that you could watch. You could even download vine videos. Whatever way you can, make yourself laugh. Your life would be so much better for it.

ReplyDeleteNumber 3 is quite controversial though. Pushing yourself to the point of being over-stressed is the cause of so many deaths and sicknesses in Nigeria. Although i agree with mental exercise but truly everyone needs a break once in a while for self introspection and reflection. It also presents an opportunity to restrategize and plan
ReplyDeleteWell, I guess it is. Taking breaks is necessary too. But there are times the body needs stress to break it's own self-imposed chains. Or what do you think?
