HOW TO ENHANCE YOUR CREATIVITY

Sometime ago, I had a chat with a friend who thought that there was nothing else that could be created. To him, everything that could be created already existed. I thought to myself “what is this young man saying?” If only he knew the amount of un-invented things lying dormant in only my own mind, talk more of that of others, he wouldn’t say that.
And that is the truth about our present age. There still so many things that are yet to be created and invented. There are dormant ideas that are waiting for their bearers to step out of their “mental comfort zones” and cultivate them. Truth is, there are still so many things that have not been brought into existence. The human mind is unlimited. The human mind is ever developing. Years ago, the thought of man flying into space was only but a far-fetched dream but that’s the reality today.

One of the ways by which you can be truly relevant to this generation and this flurry of ideas is to be creative. Creativity is the ability to create new things or to re-modify the old and make it new. One of the ways to enhance your creativity is to spend more time thinking about progress of the human race and the development of your own mind than you spend talking about and engaging in irrelevant things. Thinking in forward direction is called productive thinking. Have a problem-solving mentality.
Second, learn to separate yourself. Looking at the lives of creative men, inventors and the enigmas that have changed the world, you’ll see that they have learned how to separate themselves from the status quo and think up new ideas almost daily.
Next, eat balanced diets. Eat properly. Learn more good feeding habits. It helps your brain. Also, you should learn to sleep well. Sleeping well is not about the amount of time you spend lying in bed, it’s about how well you ration your sleeping time. You need sleep but remember your brain also needs to be very much alive. Then you need to learn how to engage in mind opening conversations with fellow intelligent people. Not everyone’s worth your time; time is life so spend it well. Time is a luxury that you don’t have, utilize it effectively.
Furthermore, the environment in which you find yourself affects your ability to be creative. One day I visited an advertising agency to see someone and I was held up in the reception. Advertising agencies are notoriously very creative. Sitting in the lobby, I was reading an edition of Harvard Business Review. While doing that, I enjoy a flurry of bright ideas. Even the reception allowed me to enjoy my thinking. Does your environment aid or impede your creativity? Do your friends, parents and mates help or deter your ability to think productively? If yes, start plotting a prison break while you still can and if you can’t break away, well, you’ll have to consider spending more time away from them and sharing your ideas less or even not at all with them.
