One of my best songs is
Darwin Hobbs’ He’s able. That song encourages me each time I listen to it. It
says that: “God is able to do just what
He says He will do. He’s gonna fulfill every promise to you. Don’t give up on
God, ‘cos He won’t give up on you. Whatever He’s promised He’s going to do.
He’s not a man that He’d lie.”
Numbers 23:29 says
that: “God is not a man that He should
lie, nor a son of man that He should change His mind. Does He speak and then
not act? Does He promise and not fulfill?” So many people have forgotten
that God always has something bigger than our minds in His plans. We seem to
forget that He doesn’t answer to us. He is God: The Almighty. We answer to Him.
When He tells us He will do something, we should rest assured that He will
surely do it. Not trusting him enough is calling Him a liar and a fraud to His
face.
Look at Abraham; He
waited for 25 years for God to fulfill His promise of a son to him. Even
Abraham gave in to the temptation of trying to speed up the process by sleeping
with Haggai, Sarai’s Egyptian slave and see how that turned out for him.
Eventually, God made good His promise to Abraham and made Him an Eternal
Excellency; The Father of so many generations. Today, Christians around the
world are referred to, among other things, as the seeds of Abraham. Imagine if
Abraham had given up on God.
Someone might say that
that’s too long. Yeah, it is. Sometimes, the problem with people is that they
refuse to see the bigger picture. They are too short-sighted to see into the
future. Even after his death, Abraham is still so relevant to the Faith.
Remember, whatever God does is forever. Learn to stay in the process and hold
on to the promises of God. He always makes good His promises. He never fails.
I really like this piece. God bless you.
