DO IT YOURSELF

For some months, I had been searching for a way to add the twitter follow button to my blog until early this morning when I decided to sit down with it and do a bit of ‘extensive research’…along came a Google result and I finally had my answer. I was able to add the twitter button using some sort of stuff like that. However, my determination to achieve this goal was what drove me. I wanted to do it myself without asking for help and now I’m more skillful and better for it.
The essence of what I’m saying is you have to start learning how to do some stuff by yourself, even if it will cost you time, it’ll be worth it. Let’s say you’re the type of person who needs a lot of graphic work to perform tasks and you don’t know much about graphics so you have to pay people to do it for you, why don’t you just sit down and take some time to learn it. You don’t always have to ask for help, you know.
All you need do is sacrifice some of your time to learn something new, in the end you get to add to your skills. If you don’t have that much time on your hands, then you may be excused from  this but if you can, make out a little time daily to learn that skill that is important to your line of work that you didn’t have but you know will only improve you and improve your value. For example, I’m in the process of learning how to use Photoshop and I had to learn Adobe InDesign on my own. Now I can design some stuff without having to pay someone to do it for me. I could even design a whole magazine and lay out a newspaper without help from another person (cool right?! I know).
Furthermore, learning new things helps your creativity. It allows your brain to stretch its capacity and work on something totaling new different, thereby taking on a new challenge. It also allows you to reason outside the proverbial box. Stretch yourself and go the extra mile. You’ll be happy you did.
